"What are you doing?" Dick's got his face pressed to the glass of Roy's third floor living room window. Roy moves over to join him, peering down to see what Dick was looking at. The alley looks empty and Roy turns, confused to look at Dick.
Dick just gives him a cheeky grin. "Checking how far the drop is, gotta see if it's worth it."
"Not high enough for you, is it?" Roy just rolls his eyes and starts to head back to the kitchen, turning back to see Dick's face as he gives a parting shot. "Get your greasy forehead off of there, Grayson. Bad enough I've got to keep the seven year old from putting her hands all over 'em, you're supposed to be an adult, you know?"

Dick resists the momentary temptation to duck his head and attempts a casual shrug in response. "Just caught a glimpse of that mess on your chin, debating if this is really worth it after all."
"What are you talking 'bout Rob, the ladies love it." He adds a ridiculous eyebrow wiggle to it, but the careful clench and release of Roy's hands is enough for Dick to know he's going to have to make himself scarce for a few days, at least until Roy's found a new thing to harass him about.
Dick leaps on the out like it's a life preserver in the middle of the ocean. "You're really going to bring up 'ladies' when you're trying to get in my pants, Harper?"

The scene goes sideways, slides into something else. Something real, Roy’s memory. Dick and Donna, tucked together in the corner of a crowded room, their heads bowed together, their knees touching. Dick brushes Donna’s hair off her shoulder. Donna laughs at something he says. In Roy’s mind, there’s – a brighter, glowing color that seems to coalesce around them. Maybe it’s a bubble. Maybe it’s a halo.
Roy’s skin is cold, several feet away, but his lips still shape a smile as he watches them. A private, unseen thing.

Or, Pacific Rim AU where Donna was Dick's copilot until she died on a shared mission. Dick goes into retirement, Roy drags him out of it.
