The guy clenched his jaw. “It’s not a fucking costume,” he grit out between his teeth.
“Look, I’m not an idiot, pal,” Tommy scoffed. “It’s a little weirdchamp that your only hobbies seem to be dressing up like a mermaid to swim around at night, and trying to convince random teenagers you meet that you’re a real fucking mermaid.”

“Okay, so what? Ghost whisperer? Ghostbusters? You don’t have any type of beeping lights. How would people know you’ve ‘gotten the ghost’?”
“Why are you using quotation marks?” Tommy had asked. “I- I really do see ghosts. For real. None of that fake TV shit.”
...
Oh. His hands are on Tommy’s arms. His hands are on Tommy’s bare arms.
Tommy stiffens and Wilbur pulls away sharply, his eyes widening further in the same realization.
“Shit,” Wilbur goes, “fuck, sorry, sorry. You don’t like to be touched- my bad, I’m-”
or, Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo are the new mystic shop in town, and SBI seems to have a ghost problem on their hands. Luckily, Tommy is an expert on ghosts- not so much family dynamics though. Maybe he'll learn as he goes. Maybe- if his empathic and telepathic magic doesn't get in the way of it.

Summary
It’s his instincts and his voices who wake him up, as they are screaming wrong wrong wrong.
He is not alone.
There is a creature in his room. Techno blinks at the figure sitting on top of his blankets, right on the foot of his bed. It is still, and does not move.
“Did you break into my house to get away from the cold?” Techno asks.
The creature says nothing. It only pulls one of the blankets at the end of Techno’s bed closer to itself.
“Well if you’re gonna stay at least take another blanket,” Techno grumbles.
Techno doesn't expect for his hibernation to be interrupted by a strange creature who breaks into his house. He decides to let it stay. Throughout the winter, the creature wakes him up in intermissions until spring. Inviting them to stay turns out to be one of the best decisions he made.
Or, how Technoblade accidently befriends and adopts what he believes to be some sort of demon that visits in his sleep, but is actually just a curious shapeshifting child.
