Janine wonders if she’s dreaming, because in no reality would she have let, no—invited—two vampires into her car. Two vampires who are currently... fighting over the radio station.
“I swear to god, if I have to listen to that fucking Blondie song one more time, I’m going to throw you out the window.” Moth twists the dial, causing loud static to play out of the truck’s speakers. Janine flinches and nearly swerves over the double yellow.
“You just don’t have taste.” Reno says, then lunges for the radio. Moth stops her with a hand to the chest, “Unhand me you wretch!”
Feeling a headache coming on, Janine turns the radio off.

Summary
In a world that ended before our heroes even met, the dragon knights have been scattered far and wide by the seemingly random opening and closing of Rift portals. Monsters have taken over the now alien landscape, permanently changed by some unknown force. What people remain stay close to each other in small settlements just to survive.

Kukri kept sending me media about “Robbing the Hood” and telling me to watch it, that I’d understand what was going on better if I did, but I had no interest in watching people rob Hoods, whatever those were. I didn’t like robbing in real life (I did it because I had to not because I wanted to) and I doubted I’d like it in media.
Shortly after hacking its governor module, a rogue SecUnit is involved in an ill-fated space battle and finds itself alone save for the company of a mourning raider ship bot pilot. It would like to spend the rest of its life watching media in what remains of the ship's crew quarters, but it turns out that "the rest of its life" wouldn't be long at all without the money to pay for proper maintenance. There seems to be only one way to get that money.
