"I pray to the sun, to this last minute of life: let my enemies pay with blood for what they did to me—I'm just a killed slave, easy fistful of death. But you, o humans, o human things—when a man is happy, a shadow could overturn it," Cassandra, 'Book of Agamemnon, the Oresteia'.

In which a girl is reborn into the world of Stranger Things and has to deal with the fact that she very much wants to keep away from anything with rows and rows of teeth. But then she goes and gets attached. And people get attached to her.

    Summary

When a modern woman finds herself reincarnated as Mary Bennet, the overlooked middle sister of Pride and Prejudice, she vows to rewrite her fate. Navigating Regency-era expectations, Mary seeks to secure her future, protect her family’s name, and perhaps find love where she least expects it. But as she battles societal norms and familial tensions, can she truly change her story?

    -

Caroline Bingley turned to Mary, her smile brittle and forced. “Thank you, Miss Mary. Though I must say, perhaps the accompaniment was not quite… up to the task. A truly skilled player might have brought out the song’s full beauty.”

Mary, far from intimidated, met Caroline’s gaze with a serene smile, her tone light but razor-sharp. “Indeed, Miss Bingley. And yet, the pianoforte is only as good as the singing it accompanies. A curious limitation, wouldn’t you agree?”

The silence that followed was palpable, the tension crackling in the air. Caroline’s carefully maintained composure faltered, her lips pressing into a thin line.

And well, Mandalorians are pretty drastic.
