Mike Wheeler has only ever wanted to be normal.
Everyday Mike has stayed hidden, pretending to be something that he is not. And if you ask Mike, he feels like he has done a pretty damn good job the last few years despite everything. He has his friends and the party. He puts up with the dysfunction that is his family. He has managed to keep smiling despite all the pain throughout the supernatural events. He has El, who is his girlfriend, for God's sake.
So why can't he be normal now? Why can't he stop his heart beating from out his chest? Why does he feel like his world was just flipped upside down?
Because of one thing. Or one person really.
Will Byers.
Will Byers just killed three demogorgans like it was nothing. Will Byers just saved Mike's life. Will Byers is making Mike feel things he isn't allowed to feel. Again.
Will Byers, Mike's childhood best friend, is the reason Mike can't be stay hidden anymore.

Sad news this morning, 11 year old WILLIAM BYERS is, once again, confirmed dead.
Mike crumpled the newspaper in his hands and chucked it across the room. He felt like he couldn’t breathe. After everything they had discovered, everything they’d been through… Will was really gone.
OR: After discovering everything about the upside down, the lab, and Eleven, the same way in season 1, Joyce and Hopper returned from the upside down, without Will. After hours of searching, they found nothing but Will’s vest, bloodied and torn to shreds, but no Will. After hours, they had to assume the worst, and escape the upside down before the demogorgon came after them, too. But unbeknownst to them, Will was very much alive. What happens when, 5 years later, 16 year old Will Byers returns to the Rightside Up, just in the nick of time, to rescue his friends from Vecna’s demogorgons.

Or... it would have, if her world hadn't come crashing down the very next morning. Suddenly, Nancy has a shotgun in her pocket, a warrant out for her arrest, and a weird new friend that she might kinda-sorta-really-like... To top it all off, she's on the run with her little brother and his awkward situationship, who thinks that his dead mom might not actually be that dead after all.
A multichapter/multi-POV jancy Heathers AU with a good amount of byler :) (That was a mouthful)
