The sun in California promised new beginnings. At least that’s what Will hoped for.
But he finds himself lonelier than ever.
His chest aches with every breath and his skin feels like it will rot away if someone doesn’t touch him… if Mike Wheeler doesn’t touch him.He finds Boris, just as lost as Will himself is. And this dangerous, gritty boy looks exactly like his best friend.
Until he doesn’t.It wasn’t him.
But for Will it was enough.
It was an escape.
A painkiller.
Boris became a drug that Will abused. -

Summary
Patches of skin on Mike’s back are completely numb, the nerve endings there being irreversibly damaged by Henry’s flaying, but he knows Will is running his hand up his back. He’s taking in the scars, how the skin is still dry there, and flaking off because Mike can’t reach to rub the salve Dustin gave him into his back.
Mike likes to think he’s strong, that he’s not a coward, but he can’t help the words that come out, “Please stop, Will.”
He hates the way his voice sounds. So soft, so defeated.
Will pulls his hand back, letting Mike’s shirt fall back into place. His hold on Mike’s arm loosens a little, and he guides Mike over to the bed, sitting down.
He lets go of Mike’s wrist and puts his head in his hands as if someone died.
Will turns his gaze up to Mike, and finally asks, “Who did this to you?”

Summary
Both Mike and Will are pushing down feelings but like the pipes at the MAC-Z, they can’t be held in forever and eventually rupture leading to long overdue conversations (cough cough the painting!) and confessions.
or
Mike is confused as fuck and stressing about his sexuality, while Will is trying his hardest to convince himself he’s over Mike (of course he’s not—these idiots can’t stay away from each other).
Mike does everything in his power to deny the truth he fears most: that he’s in love with his best friend, and that his relationship with El was nothing but fake. He tries to hide it, but someone helps him see that being different doesn’t have to be so scary.

Summary
Will groaned. “Mike,” He said.
“Or what princess?” Mike replied, smiling at him and even leaning too close.
“Mind your own business,” Will looked at Mike. With his hazel eyes of him that somehow Mike can't resist.
“I like your eyes by the way, you look cute,” He smirked.
Then a loud Thud! was heard, Will had punched Mike in the crotch once again.
Smack!—followed by a strangled “oof!” as Mike doubled over.

Right?
Wrong. Again.
The monster had been locked out here with them. They had never won anything before. Why would they win now?"The Mind Flayer bides its time and the Party has to come to terms with the idea that victory has an aftermath.

Summary
In 1983, Hawkins buried a body they thought was Will Byers. When he was found alive a week later in a farmhouse cellar, the town didn't know how to handle him. They preferred the tragedy to the boy who came back.
Now it’s 1988 and Will is almost an adult, living in the Wheelers' basement trying to navigate a world that treats him like he’s some sort of ghost or freak. Between the suffocating "Moral Panic" of a small town in the 80s and the trauma that makes his skin feel like a cage the only safe place left is Mike Wheeler.

Summary
"Do you want to be friends?" Will did not know at the time that Mike's question would result to comfort in the times Will was scared. They were all they knew, until Will leaves Hawkins for California in 1983 due to a terrible incident between Will and a group of bullies. Will does not tell Mike what happened, instead he gifts Mike a drawing of them as their DND characters fighting against any evils that come their way. In return, Mike gifts Will a short story to accompany the drawing as a goodbye. Can their love defeat all evils as presumed? Is their love even worth fighting for? As time passes between them, does Mike still recall Will as "The most divine being in both power and soul" or just his friend from child hood? Will finds his answer as he sees a familiar face in the DND club room.

Summary
In the many timelines, including the original universe of Stranger Things, Will Byers is a twelve-year-old boy in love with Mike Wheeler, who is ultimately ignored and given an unsatisfactory fate.
In this one, Mike Wheeler remains hopelessly in love with his oblivious childhood best friend, Willow Byers, when she goes missing. Although this is just one small change among the millions that could've occurred, it may be just enough to derail the destiny that awaits them all.
-----
Basically a rewrite of Stranger Things but Will is now a *lesbian* girl. This, surprisingly, might change quite a lot of things.

(Holy fuck-a-roni, as someone who has not watched Stranger Things and is now deciding to rewrite the show (albeit with a lot of missing scenes), this is hell. I have to watch each scene I even think I want to include at least ten times over, not to mention altering dialogue, and the inevitable point where I have to stray from canon. I would, y'know, just stop writing, but I have quite literally NOTHING better to do, and I'm using this as copium for that actual shit ending. And also because I love women, but, y'know...🏳🌈) -

Summary
Will Byers is not a wizard. He’s a sorcerer.
Unfortunately, sorcery comes with side effects — nosebleeds, power surges, and a cold that refuses to go away.
As Will catches a mysterious cold after unlocking his powers at the MAC-Z, Mike Wheeler steps in to take care of his best friend. Because that’s all they are. Just friends. Obviously.
A post–Season 5 fix-it bringing back THE REAL Mike Wheeler (aka the one in season 1 and 2) complete with caretaking, slowburn Byler, mutual pining, and the kind of love that flickers the lights.

Summary
“I think there are other people… people like me in my classes,” Will says at one point, lowering his voice instinctively even though he’s alone. “Not that anyone’s saying anything. But, you know. You can tell.”
“That’s… good,” Mike says. And he means it. He’s happy that Will is finding acceptance here. After everything he’s been through, he deserves it. But the feeling sits somewhere lower than happiness. It’s tight and unfamiliar, like something slipping out of his hands that he never quite admitted was his.
“Yeah,” Will agrees. “It is.”
OR: A slow-burn story about growing up unevenly, loving at the wrong time, and finding your way back to each other once you know who you are.

Summary
“Will,” he groans.
Like a pane of glass disturbed, the illusion shatters.
Andrew pulls away, leaving Mike’s legs dangling from the counter. “Who the fuck,” he asks through wet lips, “is Will?”
As it turns out, going to university in a new city doesn't help Mike get over his unresolved feelings for Will. Such is Mike's luck that, when the party reunites in Hawkins for the break, Will seems to be completely over Mike—and he has his extremely likeable boyfriend in tow.
Or, Mike is the kind of drunk who makes out with a guy while pretending he’s his estranged childhood best friend. You know, in a straight way.

Waking up in an alternate dimension is something most kids used to pray and dream about during COVID 19 after reading a fanfiction on Wattpad or AO3, or even Fanfiction Dot Net.
Or was that just May?
Still, waking up in the 80s where you could smell racism and taste homophobia was NOT what May Jacobs had in mind. Waking up in a TV show, in the alternate dimension of said show, as a kid from a generation that laughs at their issues?
Well. May might as well laugh at the big bad before she dies.
