Summary
A sharp crack tears through the air. Mike flinches back, staring down at Will's lifeless body. He gets one last look before the ground is giving way beneath them, and all at once, they’re falling.
A shrill cry tears from Mike’s throat as he finds himself flailing through the open sky. A sharp crack of lightning shutters in the distance. Will's limp corpse contorts, dropping faster than he can. He’s screaming, unimaginable terror ripping through his body. He writhes, reaching for Will, crying the boy's name.
He’s falling, plummeting through a destabilized upside down and there's nothing he can do to stop it. He’s going to die.
Mike reaches out, eyes squeezed close. He tears the watch from Will's wrist, seconds before colliding with the Exotic Matter.

Colliding with Exotic matter as the Upside Down collapses in on itself sends Mike hurtling through time. He’s given the chance to save Will before any of this starts.
But he can’t seem to get it right. Reliving moments throughout the years, helpless to warn Will. He just wants to keep him safe. Why can’t he keep him safe?
He’ll do this again and again until he gets it right. He won’t lose him again.

Summary
Mike is the "Heart" of the group, right? He's the leader of the party; that's who he was always supposed to be. What he's always been. But something has changed. Things are getting more serious, and it's getting harder for him to keep everything together. But he can't suppress his emotions forever. And Vecna realizes this and gets Mike at his weakest. All of Mike's barriers crumble, leaving him and his messy emotions vulnerable. All of the unspoken words and silent regrets. Takes place at the end of season 5 episode 4.

“He’s a sorcerer! A real life, honest to god sorcerer!” Mike exclaimed. And he hugged him, holding him closer than he ever has the past two years. Closely as he could to somehow give all of his thanks in one gesture and make up for all the lost times.
A weak “Mike” came from Will and it broke Mike ever so slightly.
“You did it. You really did it.” A sense of Deja vu struck Mike during this moment, causing a small pit in his stomach. Being reminded of all those years ago, the first time he had his life saved by an incredible person with super powers. He would’ve never guessed it’d one day end up being Will who saved him. -

The red lighting flashed again, and Will almost stopped breathing. The light had illuminated a tremendous shadow monster thousands of feet tall, spider-like legs spanning miles. It hovered over Hawkins like a harbinger of death. The light flashed again, and it turned to face Will, looking directly at him. The presence pushed at his mind, looking for a way in.
The light flashed one last time, and then he was staring at his normal backyard. Crickets chirped in the grass, and a gentle cool breeze floated in the air.
Will didn’t know how long he stood there, rooted to the spot.
Eventually, he went back inside.
He didn’t sleep for the rest of the night.
OR
A complete rewrite of all five seasons of Stanger Things from Will's POV. It will be mostly canon compliant until the later two seasons where I am planning on doing some major reworking of the narrative.
In my opinion Will is the main character and deserves a complete story. This is my attempt at it, and I hope you enjoy it.

Will was back. Choking on his own breath, heaving breaths he couldn’t seem to find. His lung burnt. His muscles tensed. There was a presence beside him, their knee pressing into the soft flesh of his torso, but he could barely feel it. They were calling his name over and over but he couldn’t pay attention.
“Mike?”
The word comes out wrong. Desperate.
A strangled sob was returned. Someone was crying. Why were they crying?
Suddenly he felt it. A prickling in his head, not painful, no something else. Something was wrong.
He tried to blink, tried to find something to grasp on. The world was spinning and he didn’t know how to stop it.
He blinked—darkness.
He lifted his hand. Pools of something thick. He gagged.
“Mike, why can’t I see?”
The pain hasn’t caught up to him yet — only the terror, the sudden, crushing absence where something has always been.

El's and Mike's relationship took a huge toll after what happened with Max hence the breakup. Feeling guilty, Mike goes down a destructive path and unexpectedly Andy-Jason's friend-gets involved. Will just wants to make sure Mike is safe and his feelings stay hidden, but how long can he when he finds himself glued to Mike's hip once Holly is deemed to be in sudden danger. Dustin is drifting away, unable to cope with Eddies death, and Lucas is trying his best to keep the party together despite his own problems.
Byler and Jancy parallels from season 1 and season 2 as well as the party being there for each other.

The door chimed open, and Will only had the chance to look up before he slammed into another chest. His thoughts went to the coffee first, feeling it spill between them. Will scrambled to keep hold of the pot, failing miserably as it rolled to the floor.
"Oh god."
Will could barely hear the other person, his ears ringing. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
"Hey, it's alright, I'm already wet. Should I tip you for the coffee?" The tone was light, humor drifting in it.
Will didn't laugh. He couldn't. It took barely a second for the air in his lungs to escape. He knew that voice, it had embedded into his mind like an unwanted tattoo. With parted lips, Will lifted his head.
The coffee burning between them went cold, and any comfort was yanked away without warning. He knew those eyes, even hardened and aged with a life Will wasn't a part of, they were the same.

The party all go their separate ways for college, Mike stays behind in Hawkins. Haunted by Eleven's death and ... other things ;)
Mike isolates himself from his friends for over a year before finally deciding to confront the things that keep him up at night.
Mike decides to visit Will at school in Chicago. He doesn't stick to their plans and runs into Will... and Carlton at a club. Needless to say this causes... issues.**The first few chapters are shorter, and mostly backstory to fill in the blanks in between the end of S5 and the beginning of my story!**
This is a byler love story, but it will be angsty and very very slow burn, there will be smut eventually. Your patience will be rewarded! ;)

Summary
“We used to tell each other everything,” Mike says, as tears form in his eyes. He wants to hide them, he doesn’t want to burden Will, but he has to keep going. Instead of pushing them down, this time he lets them go.
“I have to… tell you something too,” Mike says as a tear tumbles out of his left eye and onto the pillow.
And here it is. He’s right at the precipice of it. He flashes to that day on the cliff edge. This feels like that – a point of no return. A decision that can’t be undone. He tries to remind himself that Will did it, in front of half of Hawkins for Christ’s sake, Mike should be able to tell Will. Will, who is holding his hand.
“I-“ Mike falters, “I don’t know how to say this.”

Will thought things were supposed to be easier after Vecna was defeated. Instead, Mike is missing, Eleven is dead, and months have passed without answers. The last time Will spoke to Mike, he was spiraling—insisting Vecna might still be alive, that Eleven might be too, that none of them were ever truly safe. Then Mike disappeared. No note. No explanation. Nothing.
Everyone else has left Hawkins, busy rebuilding their lives, and Will can’t shake the feeling that he’s the only one who still cares that Mike is gone. Or maybe that guilt is his alone to carry.
Will tells himself the strangeness is over—until he returns to his apartment and finds a massive hole torn through the floor. Sitting at his dining table, casually eating an apple, is Mike Wheeler. Except this Mike is wearing strange, battered black armor, and there’s something wrong about him.
Because this isn’t his Mike. This is a Mike from another universe—a vampire paladin summoned to defeat the darkness they call Vecna. But Vecna is already dead. Right? Right?! Maybe Will just needs sleep. Or maybe everything is about to get much worse.

Summary
In the midst of the final battle against Vecna, the creatures from the deep abyss are released upon the party as Vecna’s last ditch effort to go down fighting. A new anomaly makes itself known, a creature unlike the demogorgons they have been up against thus far.
As Mike’s instincts fail him and he trickles two steps behind in the face of surprise, he risks almost collapsing along with the Upside Down. Had El not closed the gate when she did, he wouldn’t have made it out.
That begs the question: did Mike really make it out, though?

Lucas frowned. “Wait, where exactly is this?”
“This is going to take a bit to explain, but…” Jane let out a deep breath. “I’m from the future.”
They all stared at her in pure silence.
“I think I just threw up in my mouth.” Dustin whispered.
