Summary
Bleached Sunshine is just another up-and-coming indie band. Frontman Rafferty Sweet is quiet, magnetic, an artist who feels too much and says too little. Linc Ito, the bassist, is his opposite in every way: loud, reckless, half-drunk most nights, and unapologetically crude. Between them stands drummer Lex Thatcher, the reluctant mediator caught in a storm of volatile egos and tangled emotions. One impulsive night shatters the illusion of control. Linc is blacked out drunk, overcome by fantasy and a want for power. Rafferty, though, is pulled under by an obsession he can’t name, let alone resist. What was once a distant, functional dynamic collapses into something charged and unspoken. Raw want tangled with shame, denial, and the painful clarity that comes with enjoying what you can’t have. Bleached Sunshine is a story about fractured ambition, the chaos of intimacy, and the quiet devastation of loving someone who will never love you back.
