So, this is the second book - meaning it's the second chapter of our series (so if you didn't read the first book, you definitely should since it's important to understand the story, obviously 😭), and this time, it will for sure be a lot, lot, longer than the first book since there's much more drama and things planned and I am super excited to write because I personally think this book is better and more fun. Armand exhales. He turns his back so that Petronia can fix his hair as Paige had once done.
“Should I stop them if they wake before you return?” Petronia asks. “If they try to follow?”
Hesitantly, Armand shakes his head. “If I don’t return, then they deserve to find out why.”
Petronia gathers strands of Armand’s hair from each side, twists them into place, and secures them with the comb. “You’d have them see…”
“What remains,” Armand whispers, studying his reflection with a restrained nod. “The aftermath of…whatever carnage. Yes, Petronia, I would.”
Petronia squeezes Armand’s shoulders encouragingly, their expression in the mirror strained. Fac quod debes in monte, deinde ad nos revertere.
Nihil tibi promittere possum, nisi me conaturum esse, Armand replies, touching Petronia’s broad hands before extracting himself from their grasp.

Shadow and Sonic exchange an almost comical glance, the bursting mailbox sitting in front of them, begging to be opened. Shadow would volunteer if it were a normal mailbox. However, it seems that one of Tails' deliveries has malfunctioned while still in its packaging, and Shadow's pretty sure the mailbox is currently a pressurised can of soda waiting to gush out.
"I'm not doing it," Shadow backs away, folding his arms. Sonic pouts, gesturing helplessly at the box,"Shadow. It's going to assault me. Please," he begs, but Shadow stands firm, a humorous smirk on his face. This isn't HIS house, despite how often he's here. He is not touching that hazard.
