The snow plows had cleared the streets earlier that day, leaving a lovely pileup of dirty slush over the sidewalks, not helping the already darkened and dull mood Eddie constantly found himself in. Maybe he blended in like a shadow with the dark clothes he was wearing today.
Another puff and he watched a pop of color appear from across the street. An unmistakable beautiful head of hair tucked under a red ski cap with a matching scarf as Steve Harrington turned the corner and walked down the opposite side of the street. Eddie watched with interest at the handsome king of their high school seemed deep in thought and definitely not looking where he was going. Another car sped by and splattered more of the slush onto Steve's side of the street. Eddie stifled a laugh as Steve slipped and fell in the dirty snow.
