Summary
This is an alternate version of notastumph's Kick Drum Beating in My Chest Again. It is a different take on Prison Break but with Vampires. Patrick is a doctor in a prison and is happily married. One day, a new prisoner comes in named Pete Wentz, who is there to break William Beckett out of prison. Pete arranges for a riot of the prisoners to act as a distraction for his and William's escape plan, but it fails. Afterwards, Patrick feels himself being drawn to Pete and he doesn't know why. When Patrick has to transfer a stabbing patient to the hospital, things go very, very wrong. Patrick is framed for a crime he didn't commit. How will he adjust to life in prison? How will he get out? Gerard didn’t think he would make it past the age of 25. It just never seemed to be in the cards for him. The world he lived in was not meant for people like him. That’s why at the age of 26, somehow still kicking, he found himself adrift, attending weekly group therapy sessions for suicide survivors and scrambling to make a list of all the reasons he shouldn’t try again.

Gerard Way did his best to find joy in little things, coming to terms with the fact that you were an immortal vampire had a tendency to make you spiral into a pit of anxiety if you didn't give yourself something to focus on. But little did he know how hard he could fall when his un-beating heart tried to come alive again for some gorgeous tattooed strange up on stage one night.
Frank Iero was living life above all of that. None the wiser to the horrors that could come alive and surround him at anytime. But being in the wrong place at the wrong time one night sends him into a headfirst spiral into this new, very monstrous world. Threatening to rip away his humanity, his loved ones, and maybe even his life.

SPOILER- In terms of the Stendhal Syndrome aspect, some of the things that happen are real symptoms (e.g. fainting, heart palpitations, dizziness, confusion, and hallucinations) but some are not real symptoms (e.g. temporary paralysis). Furthermore, i believe that the hallucinating is exaggerating in this story. -
