Basically, post-season 5 finale (pre-epilogue) and Nancy leaves for college, focusing on her future, exactly as she has always planned to..
Is she leaving or is she, in Murray’s words retreating?
Meanwhile Robin doesn’t know how to show Nancy she loves her, and she’s spent most of post-season 4 and throughout season 5 and afterwards recording goodbye messages for her on a mixtape. Because if you can’t express how you feel in words, record a mixtape instead.
And Nancy being Nancy … well…
PS - I realise there is a story Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (which is exceptionally well written might I add) and I’ve only just read today quite concerned of some similarities - it’s coincidental. So apologies!

It was a quiet day in Hawkins. No teenagers at the arcade. No children running around at the local parks.
It was even quiet at the Wheelers’ house. The only sounds were Karen, humming in the kitchen while she cooked. The sounds of markers, and colored pencils on a piece of paper, used for Holly’s new drawing. Then there was Mike. The sounds of grunting, and sighs coming from his room. He was bored.
Mike calls the party, and asks them if they want to have a sleepover on the 5th. Everyone agrees. But somethings go down-hill on the 4th. The day before the sleepover.

Summary
This takes place after the events of Season 3. Rewriting all of Seasons 4 and 5 in my own way because the Duffer’s ending sucked ass.
With Hopper’s “death”, Joyce takes El in as one of her own and doesn’t move to California. Will and El both start having weird visions, similar but different to the ones they had before. They figure out their visions along the start of freshman year of high school, hiding this all away from the party and their parents. As the year progresses, weird things start happening. Random deaths? Missing children? Nothing feels right, or does it feel like the same as before?
Who knows, maybe it’s just an unclear vision they both had.

The scene in front of him almost felt like it was playing in slow motion. Mike couldn’t look away. A man had just saved them from three Demogorgon. A trickle of blood fell from the man’s left nostril, which caused him to lift his hand, using the back of it to clean it off. Those eyes. . . there was something about those eyes that drew Mike in, causing his heart and breath to pick up. But all at once, he felt like all the air had escaped his lungs. The Upside Down didn't feel as dark when the man’s eyes met his. Those eyes were pinning him in his spot. Mike was. . . mesmerized, in a trance. So much so that it felt like he and that man were the only ones here. That is, until he heard a loud,
". . . Will? Is that you?"

Will was never found in Season 1 but somehow survived the Upside Down. Fast forward four years, Mike and the others venture on a mission to save Max, only to encounter someone they had long thought was dead.

He'd been having nightmares since the day Will went missing, and headaches and even nosebleeds were symptoms of sleep deprivation and stress, both of which weren't exactly uncommon occurrences in his life. He hadn't heard any clock, and he thinks he'd know if he'd been hunted by a monster from another dimension - probably.
But Mike was also not a complete idiot - usually - and he was good at recognising patterns.Most damming of all, all of this had stopped practically the second he left Hawkins.

Mike continues to argue with her as he pulls out of the driveway. Their late summer job had started about a week ago, and it was already driving him insane. Twelve hour work days with three bucks an hour. It was pathetic. Two sixteen year olds, expected to run an entire shop every single day all day for an entire season. Unbelievable. If Mike really thought about it, he didn't even know who their manager was. Did they have one?
“You never really struck me as an on time or five minutes early kind of person.”
“Yeah, well do I strike you as a I'd like to keep my job kind of person?”
“Not really.”
“Go to hell. Or maybe, for a change, go to work!”

Nancy returns to Hawkins for her father's funeral as a very different Nancy Wheeler than her friends and family are familiar with. But she's good at pretending to be who they remember her as. Pretends that she let go of her violent tendencies and hadn't channeled them through targeting rapists. Pretends she doesn't know how to perfectly hide a body. Pretends she's satisfied with her independent but isolated life.
When she runs into a troubled Robin with a problem on her hands, Nancy struggles to pretend that she isn't still hung up on a moment that changed their friendship ten years ago. But the problem ends up being Vickie's husband, who Robin may have, accidentally, murdered.
