Mike freezes in the doorway and feels the air catch in his lungs. Whether that’s on purpose or not, he’s unaware. Maybe blocking his airway is his body's way of doing him a favor, making him invisible to this conversation that he was very much not invited to. He takes a stumbling step back as quietly as he possibly can, which is difficult in his growing state of panic. He needs to make his escape immediately before being spotted, but all too soon, it’s too late. Joyce redirects her gaze to the doorway at the sound of his shuffling footsteps, and the shock in her expression inevitably prompts his best friend to turn around.

Summary
Mike Wheeler is oblivious to many things, fortunately for Hawkins, and the rest of the world, this time he isn't.
While Mike is writing a novel, fictional of course, about the things they've been through, he starts to notice some things aren't adding up. There are chunks of time in his memory, even from recent event, missing.
After realizing that somethings off with the events of taking down Vecna, Mike has to convince the rest of the party, and himself, that he isn't crazy and that their fight isn't over.The party sets out on their real last adventure and fight to escape their minds that Vecna has trapped them in. Making their way through haunting memories to find their way out and finally rest and live normal lives without a new threat knocking at their doors.
Set the summer after the epilogue graduation but some things play out a little differently.
Based somewhat off of conformity gate with my own twists on some things. This is my first fic but this is most likely going to be better than the ChatGPT written ending we got from the duffel bags. Also the party can all drive now cause tell me why they were still riding bikes when Jonathan was driving at 15. -

Summary
A few months after defeating Vecna (the end of s5) Mike and Will both get accepted at NYU. Mike, still uncomfortable with Will's sexuality, asked him to be roommates by guilt of not accepting his friend for who he is. As Will is thriving in his confidence and sexuality, Mike is only feeling more and more weird towards Will's new friends and the idea they could be more. Seeing Will get drunk, smoke and even experience things Mike never dared to, even when he was with Eleven. Mike ends up turning to his friends and sister to open up about his homophobia and ends up realizing that maybe that's not what he's feeling after all.
