The palm of Peter’s right hand stings uncomfortably. It’s the hand he used to snatch the sizzling dog tags off Deadpool’s neck. Peter lifts the hand, turns the palm up, and observes the damage.
And there. Three words seared into his skin in the middle of the palm of his hand, mirrored but clearly legible:

Peter’s breath catches.
A name.

“Oh,” Deadpool says. Suddenly, there’s an odd itch in his brain, neurons firing in new pathways. Then it connects, hitting him like lightning from the clear blue sky. “Oh, shit.”
“You know him,” Spider-Man realizes right away.
“I do,” Deadpool says, still reeling. In his surprise, the truth slips from his tongue sneakily, “You’re right. I totally put a hit on you.”
Spider-Man lets out an indignant squeak. “Why?!”
“An accident!” Deadpool hurries to say, raising his hands in a calming gesture. “It was an accident, I swear!”

Summary
Older, disillusioned Spider-Man starts to entertain thoughts about killing his enemies. To make sure he never acts on these thoughts, he turns to Deadpool and requests that if Spider-Man ever goes off the rails and kills someone, the mercenary stop him for good. Permanently. Deadpool isn’t thrilled.

“I need you to kill me,” Peter says
Deadpool straightens. He goes quiet and alert. His mouth draws into a tight line, as if he’s trapping in the first words that cross his mind.
“What?” he chokes out finally, clearly taken aback.
“Not like that!” Peter hurries to say. “Not now.”
“When then?” Deadpool asks. “No, wait, that doesn’t matter. It’s a hard ‘no’ from me.”
Peter sighs. “Hear me out first, alright?”
“Nope,” Deadpool says, popping the ‘p’ annoyingly. “Not happening.”
“Please. I need your help,” Peter pleads. “I have nobody else to turn to.”

“Are you?” Peter’s stupid, stupid mouth asks on its own.
“Am I what? Good in bed?” Deadpool laughs, like Spider-Man is being especially funny. “Want to find out? I’ll show you a good time any day, Spidey, just say the word.”
Peter can do little else but stare at Deadpool for a moment, taking in his steady build and broad shoulders. The Deadpool suit leaves little up to guesswork, so it’s easy for Peter to strip Deadpool naked with his eyes right where he stands. It turns out to be a surprisingly intriguing concept.
The moment extends for too long. Deadpool stops breathing.
“Are you…? Are you considering it?” Deadpool asks, sounding breathless and awed.

Peter laughs again, tugs self-consciously at the hem of said sweater vest. “Um, thanks. I like your… thigh holster.”
Wade snickers. “I bet you do,” he says. “Hang on, just gotta finish this text to Spider-Man. Who I’m super tight with, by the way. Just saying. Feel free to be impressed.”
Peter rolls his eyes. A moment later, Wade hits send, and Peter’s phone chimes, obnoxiously loud in the otherwise relatively quiet night. Peter doesn’t move, just internally berates himself for not putting it on silent like a freaking moron.
Wade looks at him, then at his pocket. “Huh,” he says. “You gonna check that?”
“Nope!” Peter says, suddenly feeling very hot under the collar. There’s no way he could explain away the phone. Especially not with the obnoxious (and yet somehow endearing) Deadpool sticker on the back. It would be too much of a coincidence. “It’s- probably nothing. Don’t worry about it. So, where were you headed-“
“Hang on,” Wade interrupts. He presses a few more buttons on his phone. Peter’s pocket chimes once again. “I really think you should look at that,” Wade urges, sounding amused. “Sounds like it might be important. Could be your girlfriend.”
“Don’t have one of those.”
“Boyfriend?”
Peter shakes his head.
“Hm,” Wade says. “Interesting.”
