Summary
“Christopher and I, we had you. And you have us. I mean it, whatever Theo needs, whatever you need, I’ll be there. If you want to do this, you won’t have to do it alone.”
Buck’s brain must short circuit a little bit then. There’s no other explanation. It’s a moment of insanity. It’s Eddie, saying the exact words Buck needs to hear at exactly the right time. Like he always does. It’s a bolt of lightning to the chest, a shock to the system.
He surges forward and kisses Eddie. Before he can think better of it, not thinking at all. He doesn’t have the words to express everything he’s feeling at that moment, it’s all he can do.
OR: Buck worries about Theo. Eddie helps.

Summary
For Eddie's birthday, Buck goes all out. Cake, banner, surprise party, there's even confetti in little cups to throw when he gets there.
Yes, maybe Buck is thinking about Christopher's party that Eddie's parents went all out for, unlike they did for their own child. But really, he just thinks Eddie deserves it because he's Eddie.
The problem is, in all the chaos of planning, decorating, and cooking, he forgot to do two things: Invite everyone and check the cake.
-:-:-:-:-:-
Or, Buck gets the wrong cake, but maybe it was the right cake all along.

Summary
Eddie heard a shout from somewhere in the street below. Neither of them moved. It was a small aftershock. They weren't going to die.
But it felt like it, a little. Death had always been right around the corner, but now it was in the house. Sitting on the couch. Eating their cereal. They weren't going to die but maybe they were.
