Summary
Xie Lian had been hurting for most of his life. Eight hundred years of hurting was a long time, wasn’t it? He tried not to mind, mostly, fading in and out as often as the damages occurred, but Hua Cheng wasn’t eager for him to use such a strategy. He stopped, every now and then, but bending to the will of his husband didn’t mean he was unburdened—and it certainly didn’t mean he shared every guilty thought that lived in his mind, polluting his lungs. Eight hundred years of pain didn’t vanish overnight, and while they both understood this, it still stung.
