    “Oh sorry, Your Majesty,” Kaveh said drily, “I forgot that despite your short-term memory loss, deep down you are still my insufferable and infuriating roommate.”
    King Deshret raised an eyebrow in amusement. “I still don’t quite get you fully, Kaveh, but I can now kind of see why Alhaitham would like you.”

    Alhaitham starts gaining memories and powers from his past life as King Deshret. Kaveh tries to be alright with it. But sometimes it feels like he is mourning someone right in front of him.
