When Walter Skinner had called her into his office and told her Mulder had been reassigned, off the books, classified even from her, she’d stood perfectly still. Hands folded. Chin lifted.
“For his safety,” Skinner had said.
“For how long?” she’d asked.
“I don’t know.”
