Bruce Wayne deals with a serious illness, one that threatens the most crucial part of himself. He and the family try to cope with their own fears and expectations about it and then the aftermath. This is written partly as character study, partly as family drama.

Three times Tim is helped or comforted by his family, and one time where he's doing pretty alright.1) Here I am to Share the Fear (Tim & Damian & Dick)
Bruce is back and everything seems to be going well- so of course old fears pop up again. Damian notices his absence and tries is best in his own way to offer some comfort.2) Fly Towards the Calm (Tim & Steph & Cass)
Steph notices that Tim's failing at basic self care again, so she declares Movie Night. She and Cass try to remind Tim that he needs to take the time to care for himself and not just continue pouring himself out on behalf of others.3) Night Will Come But Not to Stay (Tim & Bruce)
Turns out catching the Clench and loosing his spleen have more lasting effects than they thought. Tim tries to ignore and push past his new found limitations, Bruce notices that something is off and is there for the inevitable breakdown.+1) Fair Winds, Another Tale (Tim & Alfred)
A rare event of relaxation, the Waynes have a picnic at the manor. Alfred worries about his family, but for now, it seems like everything is alright. -

Monkey see, Monkey do.
Despite the fact that he tries to raise his many children right, Bruce can't seem to stop them from picking up some of his own bad habits. Tim in particular, whether from his influence or not, seems to share the particularly bad habit of a single minded work ethic that will definitely run him into the ground. So he pulls out a classic parent phrase, only to be completely ignored. It's hard being a parent.

“You can't be serious?” Carl asks.
“I don't do jokes. And someone has to keep an eye on him.”
He groans and runs a hand over his face.
“But why me?” It won't only be him, he knows. He'll have his team with him, a few trusted agents who he has worked with for years (and who are currently sneakily accepting chocolate covered peanuts from the teacher.)
But this still feels like a personal blow somehow. Did he do something wrong? Is this what he has been reduced to? A glorified babysitter for a scatterbrained teacher?
There is that half smirk on her face, the one that either enamors you or makes you shit your pants, depending on whether or not you are on her good side.
“You told him your name.” Her answer throws him and she can tell. He opens his mouth but she carries on. “Your real name.”

Carl is less than thrilled when he gets reassigned to babysit a teacher playing around with three dots in a glorified warehouse.
But at least this job should be rather uneventful.Boring even.
