“Well, howdy there, friends!” Higgs shouted.
Sam whipped his head around and almost lost his balance again. Higgs was standing on the damp sand a dozen or so meters away from them. He looked exactly like he had on APAS’s Beach: shirtless, hair down, tattooed, and very much human. There was no replica of Amelie’s quipu around his neck, and he appeared unarmed, but otherwise he made an oddly familiar sight.
“You’re coming back with us,” Sam informed him, closing the distance between them in a few confident strides.
“Awww, I knew my prince would come and rescue me,” Higgs swooned, clasping his hands to his chest.
“You’re…not putting up a fight?” Lou asked uncertainly as Sam snatched one of Higgs’s wrists in a firm grip.
“Why would I, sugar?” he asked, unreactive to Sam unclipping his strand from his belt and unfurling its length. “Nothin’ for me here.”

So 3 years ago I stumbled upon this "Stranger Things Daily Drabbles" fic and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I've been in a writing slump for the past year and I figured this would be a good way to fix it. All props to the original writer for inspriing me to do this little exercise :)

They’ve been playing together for two years, ever since Sirius and his brother reunited, since they discovered that Regulus Black could play the keyboard, and the piano. Like, strikingly well. The Marauders are punk rock, but James and Remus have been writing slower songs so Regulus Black is perfect.
Two years is more than enough time for Regulus to blend into the band… and blur lines that were never clearly defined to begin with. James insists it’s nothing, even as his longtime girlfriend, Lily, starts to notice how close they are.
“We’re just friends, Lily,” James murmurs over the phone, “Just like everyone else.”
Lily scoffs, “We both know that Sirius doesn’t look at you like that.”
And she’s right. Whatever this is between James and Regulus, it’s becoming impossible to ignore, and impossible to keep.
So James just can't have Regulus around him anymore...

Going back to Hawkins seemed like a nightmare to Will Byers. Especially when he understood it also meant seeing Mike Wheeler everyday. Mike Wheeler, who he thought was left to rot in his past, a vague memory of an old friendship from middle school. A friendship neither of them could keep alive as phone calls eventually faded and letters stopped coming in. It's been five years and Will Byers now sees Mike Wheeler as nothing but a stranger.
