Summary
Sam has been kidnapped by the British men of letters, and an old, unwelcome face has found him. He's drugged, hurt, haunted by the memory of Dean and a request from Chuck that looks more horrifying by the moment. Sometimes the only choice is something that you had always thought impossible. Then, the drugs given to him by Lady Toni lead to some unforeseen consequences.
Well, they always said if you wanted to understand someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.

Summary
Gabriel lies dead in the forest of another world, but he is far from forgotten. An old man in form but ancient in power has come, and with him a rescue. Brought into an uncertain world, it soon becomes clear that family is where you find it, and the future is perhaps not as immutable as it once was. Faced with a multiverse of possibilities and power he has never known, Gabriel is back, and perhaps tricks are not so much for kids after all. “With the Galactic Empire,” he attempts to lighten his own mood with the joke, but the response he gets from Ross makes the blood freeze in his veins.
“They call themselves the Unitary Galactic Communia, actually.”
If Tony lets his silence speak for itself, it’s only partially because his throat is closing up on him at an alarming rate.
“I know it sounds bad at first—“
“Oh no no no, not at all,” Tony interjects quickly, “this is wonderful news. A communia. A unitary one. Sounds very… organized. They must be people who know how to keep an army. Of galactic proportions. This is great, really. Not debilitatingly frightening in the least.”

In the grand scheme of things, when one considers its owners, the modern house that occupies a suspiciously quiet hillside of the densely populated city really isn’t overly impressive... but, then, that's never been the point.
It's difficult, when one's spent their entire life as a deeply principled mortal, to consider the possibilities of being anything else; two centuries into forever, a former captain begins to wonder if he can ever be truly happy as a being so very far from human.
