Once it was clear that Rogers had nothing more to say, Tony sniffed somewhat disdainfully and leaned back just a smidge.

    Well, maybe two smidges.

Tony hadn't doubted that Stephen loved him, but if he had... well, this more than proved it. Tony was pretty sure it didn't get more romantic than this.

It could be hit or miss when playing with 'prank' artifacts. This one was, undoubtedly, a hit.

    Summary

It’s a fundamental constant, that Tony Stark is a billionaire and a genius and philanthropist and we’ve heard this time and time again over the movies. Nobody in canon seems to appreciate just how much of a bullet they dodged, though [not so much a bullet as a Jericho missile]- that Tony, being Tony, focused on a better, brighter future, and not, you know, world domination. [It would have been so easy, at any point.]

But then again, there’s so many times when Tony Stark could have thrown in the towel and made the world a far worse place, long before the good Captain even got defrosted- and even more so after.

[Even if heroism is as integral as genius is to his character, it's still a fun thought exercise.]
The War is Far From Over Now
    — the crack taken seriously AU, feat. Accidental World Domination. Diverges after IM3.
    Moments of a Dying World
    — a tragedy in which rocks fall, everyone dies, and Thanos is vaguely impressed by the carnage. Diverges after AoU.

    Summary

The one where it's a tiny misunderstanding, really. Could've happened to anyone.

[In which the world domination's an accidental byproduct of business as usual in Stark Industries, and JARVIS is so, very grounded because Tony didn't sign up for this, how was this his life, where did he go wrong in his life choices and stop laughing, Strange, dammit!]

TWiFFON and FtOS happen concurrently, but FtOS focuses on the more behind-the-scenes portions of TWiFFON, the things that might've been missed otherwise.
