Well, maybe he would if he was close enough to anyone he knew to want to bother, or if some unlucky soul was around after he'd had a few too many. But, c'mon, how crazy would he have to be to abandon his whole planet just to accept a very particular position onboard a roaming spaceship populated by a bunch of eccentric alien hermits?
