Temari spends a month on an adventure more appropriate for Naruto than her. It starts with being sent to an alternate dimension where her husband's twin sister didn't die as a baby and ends with admitting she might actually care for her brothers. (It feels terribly unnatural.)

    Summary

The war has come to an end. Madara won. In a world destroyed by his power, a dying Obito uses his last strength to give the last other person alive the chance to continue living.

    or

Six years after the fall of the resistance, Sakura is sent to an alternative universe to save her life. A universe in which everyone she knew is not dead anymore, with the exception of Tsunade Senju, who never existed and, therefore, never created medical ninjutsu. A universe in which medicine is almost fifty years behind, ninjas die like flies and Sakura is the only one who knows how to cure them.
A universe in which she becomes the slug sage.

When she was a few steps away, Sakura called her.

    "Temari!"

She turned onto her shoulder, the golden sun illuminating her blonde hair like a halo.

    "I'm going to kill him."

One of her eyebrows rose, her green eyes sparkling with curiosity.

“Sasori,” Sakura explained, feeling the truth of what she was saying etched into her bones. “I will kill him one day. I promise.”

Surprise crossed Temari's face for a moment before she looked at Sakura as if she were seeing someone completely new right before her eyes.

After a while, she smiled, a slow, mischievous smile.

    "Make it hurt."

“No, another one of my students, actually,” he said with a wave of his hand.

Ino, who had joined them by then, frowned quizzically at the information. “By student, you mean… Like Yahiko ? Or like the Yondaime Hokage?”

“Ohh, you knew about that?” he admitted in a cackle. “Yes, the one I’m seeing today was in my genin team, just like Yondaime,” he explained with a wiggle of his eyebrows. “Impressive, right?”

    Breathe. Naruto, breathe.

Was he really talking about her dad’s teammate!?

“You- You mean, here? In the village??”

The universe was telling her to do something about this information, right?!?

    “Can I come too, -ttebayo?!?”

How was she learning now that there was another person related to her parents?

She had searched for them for so long, and they were now dropping one by one in front of her door!?

Jiraiya-sensei stared at her with a raised eyebrow, before he graced her with a wide grin. “Sure, kid!”

She could almost hear her heart sing.

“Why are we wasting so much time then!?” Ino said in panic. “Hurry girls! We have an important meeting today!”

With a strong nod, Sakura immediately focused back on her task.

Because, naturally, her friends were accompanying her!

    She couldn't waaait!

    Summary

When Ximena Santiago was about to turn eleven, her parents took her to New York City for her birthday. She wished, now that she's almost thirteen and those military airships crashed into the Potomac and there's a ghost hiding in the back corner of her broken down warehouse, that they had gone to Disneyland instead.

Or; the one with an amnesiac super soldier assassin, an extraordinary young girl, and their journey in search of their identity and a home, respectively, all while avoiding Captain America's friends and a bunch of nazis.

She sucked in a large breath, and Crow Man forced his fingers beneath the collar. She made a strangled sound of surprise as he gripped it, left hand completely covering the shock trigger.

He tore it apart from her neck.

He tossed the sparking pieces away as Ximena gasped, her eyes snapping open with a brilliant golden glow. All at once Crow Man felt the FEARPANICRELIEF, the GUILTDISPAIRTERROR, everything the girl must have felt during her captivity roiling over him like a flood. Her hold on his shoulder tightened, the metal creaking beneath her hand, and she spasmed, her other hand tearing his shirt.

“Easy, easy, easy,” Cesar chanted as she took another stuttering breath, and Crow Man caught the back of her head as her eyes rolled back and she collapsed back into Cesar’s waiting hands. “She’s alright, she’s good,” Cesar assured him, but still Crow Man pressed his right hand to her neck, counting her pulse. Even as he did, her breathing evened out.

He gathered her back into his arms, pressing his forehead to the top of her curls. His heart sputtered painfully, that tightness returning to his throat.

This was… not Crow Man tearing at his chest, nor the Soldier. It was someone else, someone buried away far deeper.

That’s still you, the voice whispered. That’s still us. We’re still there.

A hand dropped on his shoulder, and he snapped his gaze back up at Cesar.

“We gotta go, big man,” he said carefully. “This place is not supposed to be lit up like it is, and like I said, you left a fucking mess.”

Crow Man swallowed. He shoved the discomfort of the confusing and terrible emotions away and stood. He followed Cesar, and behind him, the fun house began to burn.
