Riyo bursts out laughing. The noise startles Jabber awake, and his head knocks into his jaw. They both groan in pain.

Summary
Zanka was finally getting a good night's rest after days of struggle, so why did it feel like he was being watched? He slowly reached out for his Lovely Assistaff only to find the spot empty. His eyes shot open and he practically jumped up from his bed and flicked his head to the empty spot where his Lovely Assistaff would lay against the wall.. except it wasn't empty. A lady stood there instead.
There was no doubting it. This was his beloved Assistaff. But the bigger question was: how the hell was she a person and not a stick?

He doesn’t want Ajaw shrieking in his ear about leaving their vessel all fucked up, he doesn’t want to collapse in the middle of a commission, or be found by Kachina and be dragged all the way to the stadium, or have Ifa and Mavuika and everyone else breathe down his neck for the next week because they think he’s incapable and helpless.
But that’s exactly what happens. Because of course.
(In other words, Kinich underestimates his ability to take care of himself and ends up paying the price for it.)

Summary
Moments later, the door swings open, revealing a disgruntled teenager. His disheveled blonde hair is tousled and unkempt, as if he had just tumbled out of bed to answer the unexpected knock. The teenager's eyes are heavy with sleep, and his expression conveys irritation at being disturbed from his slumber.
“Who the fuck are you supposed to be? Is this some shitty Halloween costume?” His ruby eyes scan his clothes, taking in the frayed scarf and drenched cloth.
“My apologies, I seem to have stumbled into the wrong neighborhood,” Ajax explains, clearing his throat. “I’m actually quite lost, I was hoping to find a place to stay for the night, if you would be so kind. I can offer a hefty sum of mora in exchange.” He reaches into his pouch, pulling out a handful of shiny coins and holding them out to the teenager.
“Hah? Is this some kind of joke? Get lost, I'm not fucking interested. Go peddle your crap to your homeless buddies,” The teen stares at him like he’s some descender who crash-landed on Teyvat before slamming the door in his face.
