If Kakashi isn’t in any real danger Minato has no reason to worry, but Kakashi is the only one of his students still alive and he can’t help feeling responsible for every time he gets hurt on a mission. It’s ridiculous, Kakashi is an Anbu, he’s a jonin and he’s more than capable of defending himself and being responsible for himself, but still he’s just a child, or teenager as Kakashi would argue, and Minato is pretty much the only adult present in the boy’s life.
Or
Kakashi's and Minato's relationship through both of their eyes as they try to protect each other and the trust they share.

“Wouldn’t want to lose my soon-to-be personal punching bag to his tendency to fall out of windows,” Obito grouses, but it falls short of biting and lands somewhere between fond and gods why me which for Obito might as well be a confession of everlasting adoration. Unfortunately for him, the lighting isn’t quite low enough to disguise the heat rising in his face.
“Ooh, Obito, your personal punching bag?” Kakashi leers, leaning as much as humanly possible on Obito without outright jumping into his arms. “Does this mean we’re exclusive?”

Summary
Right now, he was tasked with the mission of informing the Chuunin Sensei of his team that his former students were possibly in danger. That one of them was leaving the village, that one of them was going to be personally trained by Kakashi and hauled around with him at every single opportunity. As these things went, this was an unofficial assignment. There would be no mission report at the end, not when Danzo was the reason everything was going to shit in the first place.
Kakashi flexed his hands, trying not to panic as he ran over a basic script in his head. ‘Your former student, now my student, is being targeted by Orochimaru. This puts him in danger. If I am going on a mission he and Sakura can attend, they are both going with me. Naruto is off and out of the village, training with Jiraiya. This will keep him safe, as he is also a target. There’s a group of missing-nin who are after him.’
It almost sounded decent in his mind.
