Summary
Gordon Freeman was an odd guy. He talked to himself constantly and his ego was bigger than the sun. He was a bit of a wild card though, which always made him quite entertaining to hang out with. They’d been friends for a few years now, so Barney was used to his level of strangeness. At least he thought he was used to it. When he accidentally finds out Gordon has had them registered as married for two years he is genuinely thrown for a loop.

“I-- I want you to tell people we’re friends.” Penguin blurted in his direction. Victor glanced up at him, in the dim lighting of ‘The Iceclub’ he almost looked like he wasn’t shaking.
“And why would I do that?” Funny he wanted to be ‘friends’ but could barely talk to him without stuttering.
“I can pay you, per appearance and menti-” nope.
“I don’t need your money, in case you haven't heard I’ve already got a job.” Oswald audibly gulped freezing at that; obviously contending with the various overblown rumours about what exactly Victors ‘job’ entailed.
Surprisingly insisted of apologising and running away Oswald sat down right across from him allowing light to wash over his stern expression.
“That’s exactly why you’re the perfect choice for this sort of deal! If you don’t want money then- then how about Food!” Oswald took his silence as a prompt to continue.“Yes! I’ll make whatever treats you want, milkshakes too, I’ll even start making lunches for you if you want, all on the house of course.” It seemed the penguin had a back bone after all - Zasaz had been shooting him his creepiest looks and everything!Oswald hires Victor to stop people in their school from bullying him.
