Summary
"A-die!" Their daughter came running to them, jumping onto the bed before tightly wrapping her arms around Xie Lian's waist. He realised with increasing worry that her limbs were trembling, and he knew his husband did as well with the way the other perked up, narrowing his eye.
"What happened?" Hua Cheng asked, gently yet firmly. Xie Lian patted soothing circles into Hua Nian's back as he felt a wet patch form on his shoulder.
"I had a bad dream." Hua Nian whispered as she burrowed further into her father's chest, her inky hair spilling over her shoulders.
Or: Hua Cheng and Xie Lian's daughter comes to seek comfort from her parents after a nightmare.

Summary
The meeting was supposed to be nothing but an empty formality. A sort of prelude and introductory event before the art exhibition the very next week. All Hua Cheng had to do was nod, agree to their conditions, and let Yin Yu read over the fine print and deal with anything else.
She had been over this tens of times, and all she wanted to do in the moment was go back home to her wife's embrace and soft smile as soon as this was over.
Instead, she found herself sitting in a squeaky chair, squinting at an iPad the "creative director" of the gallery had slid over in disbelief.
Or: Hua Cheng finds that some of her arts of Xie Lian have been "enhanced" for an art exhibition. Safe to say, she is not happy with the development. Cue an emotional hurt/comfort with domestic hualesbians.

Lu Guang’s reflection wavers faintly on the glass—white hair mussed, collarbones peeking under the jacket, a faint trail of red along his throat where Cheng Xiaoshi’s mouth had lingered last night. The marks on his wrists and hips ache faintly with each small shift, evidence of fingers that had held too hard, too long.
The door suddenly clicks.
Lu Guang freezes.
A moment later, the door bursts open.
“Morning! I bring—” Qiao Ling’s voice cuts through the quiet. She stops mid-sentence, halfway in, eyes locking instantly with his.
The front door faces him directly.
Lu Guang doesn’t move. For one second, he stands there under the soft light, pale skin visible between the hem of the jacket and his thighs, hair falling into his eyes. His hand still holds the half-empty glass. His mind blanks out so completely that even his breath forgets to come.
