Summary
In another world, another time, the Valyrian steel would cut through flesh and sinew and fat. A cut, clean as could be. A blade so sharp, it needed a scar to match. Rhaenyra’s arm forever marred by that memory. Their shared pain made manifest.
But in this world, the knife misses its mark. Fate’s threads get tangled. Or perhaps they are merely woven into a new pattern. Blood is still spilled, but this time it is not Dragon’s blood. This blood flows like the water of the Honeywine river. And water can wash away the tragedy, it can wipe the slate clean. And thus a future calamity is avoided.

A girlfriend. Just the idea is ridiculous. Rhaenyra is not the type to give herself fully to anyone- not to her father or her dead mother. Not to Alicent, either, a vicious thing inside her head whispers. There’s a wildness to her that makes her infuriating and fascinating in equal measure. Doesn’t know what poor little thing she’s stringing along, but surely it’s not something that would, could, last.
