Summary
“Oh, I’m not sure you’re supposed to smoke here,” Hollander said as Ilya grabbed his hand. He had forgotten he was even smoking.
“Okay,” replied Ilya. With his other hand, he quickly pulled the cigarette from his mouth and let it hang between his fingers. He didn’t let go of Hollander.
“You’re an awesome player to watch,” Hollander’s eyes shifted to their hands.
“Yes,” Ilya said.
There was a silence then, and Hollander withdrew his hand slowly. Ilya’s eyes didn’t leave his cheeks, admiring how his freckles look with a rose tint.
“Anyways, I should-”
“Have you eaten?” Ilya interruptedOR

Summary
They’d agreed on a plan. It was cautious. Designed to keep them safe. Laying the foundation for a future after hockey. It didn’t include Shane going nuclear one fucking day into pre-season, blowing up his entire life on something he should’ve expected to happen if he was being honest with himself.
Or, when the long game falls apart, Shane and Ilya need a new plan. (Or or, from the ten year plan to the one week speed-run.)

Shane Hollander's Guide to Winning Free Agency by DistantStorm

Summary
Shane Hollander is a UFA on July 1, 2019 at 12pm Eastern. An Unrestricted Free Agent, or UFA for short, is a player of a certain tenure whose contract has ended and can sign with any team of their choosing. If it were anyone else, a player walking to his UFA day would strike fear into the fans and managers hearts. They could lose a player for nothing.
On the morning of July 1, 2019, with Shane Hollander set to test free agency, the Montreal Metros and their fanbase aren't worried. It's well documented that Shane Hollander has always held out for the best deal, and being a free agent is his leverage. Everyone knows that he’ll sign another deal with the Metros.
But maybe everyone is wrong.
(Alternatively: the one where Shane Hollander finds out ahead of schedule that Ilya Rozanov is lonely.)

Summary
How did he let this happen?
Shane's not sure.
One moment, he was on the gym floor not staring at Rozanov's
gorgeoussweaty body. Then Shane was standing up, but his legs were weak for some god forsaken reason and Rozanov was there, just an arm around his waist to keep him upright, and now...Well.
Now Shane's on his knees on the floor of Ilya Rozanov's shower.
Or
Heated Rivalry, but the boys are forced to have an honest conversation around 8 years earlier than they do in canon.
