Summary
After ARK, Grace wasn't sure if she'd ever lead a somewhat normal life. Between adjusting to life with Emily, the constant monitoring from the DSO and BSAA and the endless nightmares, she had little time to think about the event that started it all. What transpired at the Wrenwood Hotel sat heavy on her shoulders, all of the what-ifs hanging idly without a sign of relief. After a nudge from Mr.Kennedy himself, Grace finally works up the courage to face that fear, to confront those feelings from that day head on.

“I just don't get it,” Grace remembers complaining one day, having just tripped on air and face-planted into the nearest locker at school. “Have you seen me? I haven't gotten a bit of flexibility in my bones.”
Alyssa vigilantly held it in, but Grace’s high-pitched whining easily broke her stupor.
Her smile was as warm as the sun outside, and her touch even more so applying some ancient ointment against the bruise on Grace’s cheek.
“It's not about being graceful,” her mother said. “You are full of grace because you come to me like a gift. One I haven't done anything to earn.”
Approaching a year since the events of RE9, as Emily officially begins her schooling outside the home, Grace finds herself struggling with the ghosts of her past in more ways than one.
Meanwhile, Maeve is forced to confront her past in the most brutal way possible.
Reeling from a confrontation that left her shaking, Maeve has to make a difficult choice after receiving yet another field assignment request from Director Dempsy.
Grace is not going to like this.

"Sweetie, what happened?" her mother asks before noticing the broken glass on the floor, some shattered pieces scattered a bit further away. "Oh, no, are you hurt?" Ella manages to shake her head but there's another thunder that makes her yelp and she's in her mother's arms within a second.
"Get her back to our room," her father says, his broad hand on the back of her head in a gentle caress. "I'll clean this up."
