What if in order to avoid getting gutted right then and there Will decided to lie and say he had fully intended to kill Freddie? What if he continued the lie and said he still wanted to kill Freddie? What if Hannibal called his bluff and took Will right to Freddie’s doorstep.

“I’m sorry, please don’t stop, I’ll be better, I promise,” Simon gasps as he shakes his head, gripping Grace’s shirt as his words rattle around his head so harshly they come tumbling out before he can think to stop them. “I’ll be good, I swear.”
“Hey, hey, shh,” a gentle voice washes over his concern, eroding it away bit by bit as hands cup his face. “I gotcha, I’m right here, Flower, I promise.”
As gentle lips return to his quivering ones, Simon’s eyes focus back in on the man over him, guiding him back to the present.
