    Leo frowns.

    “What?”

    He picks up more eggs on his fork. He's going to the forest right after breakfast, and he already learned the hard way how hunger makes the cold stick to his bones.

    “Ornithologist,” Donnie says, a little tired. “Is that what you mean?”

    Raph’s asleep when Leo wakes up for the first time.

    It’s Donnie who startles him awake afterwards with a bit of a dazed look all over his face and a whole lot of shake to all his limbs.

    “He asked about you,” he says, voice thin and quiet. He’s kneeling down on the floor, his claws digging into the mattress. Raph can hear some of the seams rip open. “But he’s passed out again now.”

    Raph blinks up at him – stiff with sleep and nightmares. Donnie looks awfully pale in the dim light.

The spores wore off quickly on April, Casey, Donnie, Mikey, and Raph, but for Leo, who was attacked by dozens of mushrooms… it takes longer. Without the focus on a mission, Leo finds it harder to face his fear. The others learn some things about their leader.
