Summary
The Gambler is a coming-of-age story about teenage boys growing up in a world shaped by war, crime and Dark magic, learning too early how power really works.
Set between 1938 and 1946, against the backdrop of Grindelwald’s war, and told from the perspective of Ranulph “Ray” Lestrange – a Slytherin student and close friend of Tom Riddle – the story explores not only Tom Riddle’s rise but the making of an entire generation. These were the boys who would later become the first Death Eaters – young men shaped by conflict, scarcity and ambition, convinced that from the chaos and ruins of war they could build a shining new era of their own.
Please note: This work contains graphic violence, child abuse, period-typical homophobia, class and gender prejudice, and other heavy themes. Please check the full trigger warnings in the header. The story does not take the Fantastic Beasts film series into account, and Grindelwald’s ideas, goals and actions are portrayed differently here.

Summary
After becoming District 12's escort at the age of twenty-two, Effie Trinket is forced to work alongside Haymitch Abernathy, the embittered sole survivor of the Second Quarter Quell. Both fractured by hidden traumas, their resentment of each other becomes complicated by their mutual longing for human connection.
Content: Most pivotal to this story is the theme of trauma. One significant plot point is Effie's backstory as a victim of childhood sexual abuse. This will never be shown graphically - however, allusions will be made to the nature of her abuse & how it continually affects her as an adult. There will be canon-typical violence, substance abuse, disordered eating, self harm, & dystopian atrocities. There will also be sexual content.
