    This started as a one-shot and developed into something more, exploring Chakotay's return post Ysida.
    I always felt that Prodigy kind of ignored his mental state and what he had been through once he got rescued, so I wanted to provide an insight into his emotional state, while still making it fit into the show as 'missing scenes.'
    This story is connected to "The Last Step in Fixing a Captain"

    2026 edit - added a chapter and updated some things in other chapters. I'm constantly doing small revisions and I'm sorry about that. But the main story structure is complete as I've deleted some things that made no sense or were redundant.
