“Does it still hurt?” Luffy asks, lithe and calloused fingers barely grazing his scarred skin. They tremble, as if he’s afraid that his touch would reopen the scar long healed, that his palm would burn his skin again like it did 12 years ago.
Sabo’s mouth dries; a trembling gloved hand rises to touch where Luffy’s fingers lay. He wants to say no; it does not hurt anymore—not like how it used to. He wants to lie. But instead, he admits in a whisper, “Sometimes.”

Casual touch is maybe the furthest thing he expected. Sanji ignores the errant thought that asks what it'd feel like to be treated so gently.
