“Say,” Jason says, “how old are you anyway, shrimp?”
“Ten,” Tim says, but he looks away right after.
“Ten?”
“Okay…” Tim admits. “I'm still nine. But I'll be ten in July!”
“That's six months away. You're nine.”
“...and a half,” Tim mutters.
Jason snorts. Then he sits down on the sofa next to Tim. “Here's what's going to happen here,” he says. “I'm going to get you an Uber and I'm going to track it and make sure you get back to Bristol.”
Jason would prefer to take Tim home himself, but that puts him too close to Bruce and the others.
“You don't know where I live!” Tim protests.
Jason resists the urge to roll his eyes and says, “Tim. There is literally a house called Drake Manor next door to Wayne Manor. You have a Bristol accent. We met at a gala.”
“Oh. Right.”
Jason rubs his temples. Kids are a nightmare. Glad he's getting rid of this one.

Jason Todd accidentally becomes a parent to the kid who's been stalking him since he came back to Gotham. Somebody's got to make sure this kid gets to be a kid.

“Basically, there’s something wrong with Gotham. Apparently, things don’t, uh. Stay dead here. And the reason I’m recording this is so that when I inevitably get arrested and thrown into Arkham, at least you’ll know that this is all my mom’s fault, really.”
-If Janet Drake’s body hadn’t been unrecoverable, Tim could have just buried her in Gotham, followed her notes, done the ritual, and he would have had her back alive again. She’d be ecstatic! All her research, all her theories about the mysterious life-bringing properties of Gotham’s soil, confirmed!
But she dies far away, body lost at sea, and all Tim has left of her is an empty basement full of her research, all for nothing...
But it’d be a shame to let his mother’s work go to waste... wouldn’t it? And Jason Todd’s grave is right there, in his neighbors’ family graveyard...

Summary
Jason and Dick, patrolling Gotham in Batman's absence, are captured. Jason's ankle is sprained, Dick's shoulder is dislocated, Dick has been drugged, and they're locked in a room with more than a few goons between them and freedom. That's fine—Jason has faced worse odds.
Unfortunately, his older brother seems determined to martyr himself. It looks like Jason's on his own for this one.

“What exactly do you mean by that, Mr. Drake-Wayne!? Is this you confirming the allegations?”
At that, Tim’s brow furrowed deeply. His lips parted, and he tilted his gaze just slightly upward, letting the streetlight catch his cheekbones in the most cinematic way possible. He looked like a teen actor playing Hamlet in a school production.
Jason slapped a hand over his face. He’s doing a bit he thought. The little psycho’s doing a bit on live TV.
“W-well,” Tim began, stammering just enough to sound authentic, “as long as all of me and my siblings have known him, Bruce has always had a very… special relationship with… someone that he sponsors. We all thought–
My siblings and I thought he just couldn’t bring himself to talk about it in public. With how complicated everything was.”
The reporter startled, nearly fumbling the mic. “I’m sorry, what exactly are you implying—”
(Or, Time Drake wakes up and decides to ruin Bruce's day. Jason Todd wakes up and decides to ruin Bruce's whole life.)

"Why?" Tim asks stubbornly. “It’ll be a win-win situation – I get a new life without some guardian tying me down, and you get a new life where you can eat food every day and live in a big house. You’ll probably have to go to school, but that’s the only downside I can think of. That, and pretending to be me, of course."
