April 1951, Japan.

Charlotte clutched her stomach as she crouched and leaned against the walls of the castle corridor. May heavens above hear her plea and double her pain and give it to Stanley. For some reason, it seemed to her that that man could handle pain well, so she might as well take full advantage of that. She closed her eyes, began focusing, and tried mentally transferring her cramps to him.

Stan stops eating and stares at Xeno like he grew another head because of course it was strange.
"Uh yeah. Different species can't be together."
"Why not?"
Stan gives Xeno a blank expression. He saw where Xeno was coming from, but a cat and dog couple? There was no way that would work out in a million years.
Or: Stan was your average dog. He went to school, hung out with his other dog friends, and avoided talking to cats. Stan has never interacted with cats before until he meets a cat boy his age that changes his whole worldview.
