'Oh, it's—' James starts to say.
'James!' Regulus says in a breathy exhale, frozen where he stands
James runs a restless hand through his hair. 'Yeah, um, hi! God, I haven't seen you since...wow, it's so good to see you!' James laughs nervously.
'You two know each other?' the maître d' asks.
'Yes, we...we knew each other in school. But it's been a long time,' James says.
Regulus and James on the show First Dates, where people are set up by the show for blind dates and then get filmed. Except these two have met before.
First Dates is a real show, and is often very cute! This is based on a real episode that I have looked for and can't find. -

'Reg, you little shit. Why didn't you tell me he would be here?'
'Oh, Sirius, how lovely to hear from you. How's the recording session going?' his brother asks innocently.
Sirius groans. 'Did you know?'
'I did. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to do something stupid like show up in a fucking limo to a charity gig.' When Sirius doesn't respond, it's Regulus's turn to groan. 'What was it then?'
'Bentley,' Sirius mumbles.
Celebrity singer Sirius is asked to collaborate on a charity Christmas single--and since James is going, he says yes. But someone else is there who Sirius doesn't want to see (or at least that's what he tells himself).
Based on the 1984 Band Aid recording of 'Do They Know It's Christmas.' Some things inspired by actual people/events, some completely made up.

Summary
Sirius the Pumpkin King is getting bored with Halloween when he discovers another holiday, and decides he has to have a go at doing Christmas himself. This decision has implications for some of the other residents of Halloween Town.
Or, the marauders characters in the Nightmare Before Christmas universe. Featuring some obvious character parallels and some originals! Plot begins similar to the movie but there's new stuff here, too. You don't need to have seen NBC to follow what's going on.

Summary
After running away before finishing high school, Sirius has managed to put a respectable life together for himself. His boss has been pushing him to get his GED, and Sirius finally caves and signs up for a GED prep class. It might be the best decision he's ever made.
When Sirius and Remus met in the universe of my other story 'Regulus's Bad Trip.' Chronologically, this one is first, but is lacking some context from that story, so I recommend reading this second. Works pretty well as a standalone, though.
