“Kaeya,” Diluc repeats after poking at his food for a while without eating it. Kaeya almost shudders.
This is it, he thinks. This is when they throw me out. Of course. It was always the only possible outcome, wasn’t it? He doesn’t belong here. He never has and never will.
But the truth is, Kaeya doesn’t want to go. He doesn’t want to find himself alone again in the dark and in the cold. He just wants to escape Diluc right now, escape this conversation so the words can’t be spoken out loud, he wants to go down there and hide, hide, hide-
“Are you an alcoholic?”
(Or, Kaeya can't sleep at night in his bedroom, and Diluc isn't pleased to learn where he goes instead.)

Suddenly, his wandering mind as well as the beautiful scenery of the evening sky were disturbed by a bird flying by.
No, not flying by, but.. towards him?
Kaeya squinted and tried to focus. Surely he hadn't smelled so dead yet that a prey bird would've mistaken him for food?
Either way, if the bird was here to eat him, Kaeya had to think of a strategy to defend himself. Being eaten alive- or well, as alive as he could be considered- didn't sound like a pleasant experience.
Though as the bird came closer, Kaeya couldn't help but think it looked familiar.
Those patterns..Kaeya's eyes widened.
What the fuck was Diluc's falcon doing here?
Or: Kaeya gets severely injured on Dragonspine and things aren't looking good for him. But, in a turn of fate, Diluc's falcon might just be his unlikely savior.

Before Diluc leaves to go spend another week in Mondstat city, Adelinde supplies him with a batch of pumpkin spice pie. The kind she used to make for the boys every October, back in the good days. Determined to keep his promise to her, Diluc waits for Kaeya to arrive to the tavern so he can pass on his half of the dessert. But its getting late and Kaeya still hasn't shown up...
