"This is Amortentia," she said certain of it "the most powerful love potion in the world." Slughorn gave her another nod and she took it as an invitation to continue explaining the potion "It is rumored to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them.”
"For example, I smell" Hermione swallowed, mentally beating herself for her stupid bout of Griffindor courage. She'd not be able to stop now that she had started describing the unique perfume that the potion had to her.
"Freshly mown grass and new parchment and…" Her voice grew small and she paused her sentence to breath it in again, thinking of Ron and their friendship and of what she had smelled during fourth year.
"And of spearmint toothpaste"
Ron's scent hadn't changed in the last two years. Her feelings hadn't changed in two years. And yet just now, she had lied to Slughorn and the whole N.E.W.T. class.
Hermione's eyes glued to the small vial as the professor offered it as the reward to his brewing challenge. She was going to win that potion.
She had to.
She needed to know why the love potion smelled like wolfsbane.

Summary
Hermione goes back to Hogwarts for her 8th year with the goal of being herself and introducing her friends (both old and new) to a bit of muggle culture in the process. As Head Girl she plans on showing other muggleborns that you don't have to be a pureblood to be successful and you don't have to bury your muggle side to appease society.

Theodore Nott has been obsessed with Hermione since he first saw her. Finding out he would be Head Boy is the best thing that has ever happened to him. Knowing that he will be a roommate to Hermione gives him the perfect opportunity to finally get close to the Golden Girl.
The only downside is that they will also be rooming with Malfoy.
————As a part of Draco Malfoy's probation he has been mandated to return to Hogwarts for his final year without the ability to use magic outside of limited use in his classes. He also is required to room with the head boy and girl so they can keep an eye on him.
And of course the Head Girl is the Golden Swat and the Head Boy her little stalker.
