Shane waited for the game to start. It was a low-stakes pre-season game between rival schools, meant to sell tickets and give both teams a chance to test each other before the real conference game. Except Mantua had shown up without their captain. Ilya Rozanov had pulled his team forward in the college rankings and signed with a European team that summer. Now he was absent, and Shane didn't understand why.

Ilya and Shane play rugby for rival colleges, University of Mantua and Verona University. When Mantua's team crashes a Verona Halloween party, Ilya is is mesmerized by a freshman with the prettiest freckles he's ever seen, who blushes when Ilya quotes Shakespeare at him. He desperately wants to know how far down the flush goes.
When Hayden convinces Shane to join their team at a campus Halloween party, he doesn't know what to do about the senior staring at him like he wants to eat Shane. It's absolutely unfair for anyone to look that good in green leather. But before Shane can work out what his feelings about the man's unreal ass mean, he's gone.
The next time they see each other, it's two days later and Mantua is staring down Verona from opposite sides of the field.
