“I don’t care about how complicated it is,” he added. “I don’t care about Toph or my tribe or the Fire Nation or whatever else you’re thinking about right now.”
Zuko’s fingers curled slightly at his side. Sokka looked at him directly now.
“I care about you,” he said simply. “That’s it.”
Zuko got up from where he was sitting and practically jumped on Sokka, wrapping his arms around him as tightly as he could. The alpha stumbled half a step back from the impact, then immediately caught him, hands sliding instinctively around Zuko’s waist to steady him. Zuko buried his face into Sokka’s chest, breathing out like he’d been holding it in for hours.
Summary: After a string of hookups, Sokka and Zuko finally decide to make things official. However, they both struggle through miscommunication, pride, and overthinking everything.
