Summary
Penelope Featherington is a successful English teacher, Deputy Headteacher and single mum to an energetic 5 year old, Elliott. They venture to London for a few days of exploring and new experiences during the summer holidays.
What Penelope doesn’t expect however, is for her carefully managed and curated world to collide with the chaotic Bridgerton family due to chance meeting between Elliott and some of the next generation of Bridgertons.
Penelope has spent years building a coat of armour to protect herself, and by extension Elliott, from everything negative that the world could throw their way. She is determined to give Elliott a totally different upbringing from her own.

Violet Bridgerton has had enough of her three eldest sons refusing to engage with the marriage mart. She has seen her daughters Daphne and Francesca married in the last four seasons but she wants more grandchildren and she wants them now.
And so, in the week before the whole family and ton are due to descend on Aubrey Hall for the annual Hearts and Flowers Ball, Lady Violet has invited a select group of eligible ladies to the Hall to participate in a series of challenges where the ultimate prize is up for grabs: marriage to one of the three oldest Bridgerton brothers. Penelope Featherington is on her fourth year on the mart with no prospects.

Whistledown exists, Colin didn’t make any foolish declarations in the Featherington gardens, Penelope and Eloise are grand. Prudence is still unmarried. This started out as a purely crack fic but I accidentally kept adding plot and making myself cry. There is still quite a lot of crack though. If you crave period accuracy, sorry. I researched some bits with fervour and then hugged an anachronism or two for the giggles.

Summary
It's Mardi Gras season! Time for parades, king cake, parties, and throws!
Penelope Featherington has to adjust her work travel plans due to inclement weather. Instead of flying home to London, she has to take refuge with Colin Bridgerton in "The Big Easy", New Orleans.
Amidst the celebration and seasonal revelry, will Penelope finally get over her longtime crush on her BFF's brother, or will Colin begin to see her as more than the "honorary" Bridgerton sibling?
This will be a multiple chapter, fun, HEA work with a few serious topics. Mostly, it will be our favorite "will they, won't they" couple in the zaniness of the French Quarter during Mardi Gras!

“But I must-” She insisted.“I’d really rather you didn’t.” He said sternly. Colin’s face was unreadable as he couldn’t meet her eyes. Instead she stared at his clenched jaw. She supposed she wouldn’t have wanted his congratulations either after her own wedding, not that he tried to offer any.
