The Utility of Non-Standard Optimization by ForFangirls
Fandoms: The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells
10 Jul 2026
Tags
Summary
Perihelion and Secunit are interfacing in ways humans consider edgeplay, and while that is disturbing on multiple levels... it's also come in handy a few times. This diary serves to provide 5 times when Peri and SecUnit's proclivities saved a mission and then the one time they messed them up. Was this compiled by Peri trying to defend its right to BDSM to the university after the events of Case Study? Who's to say. ;)
Inspired prequel to Case Study, but please read that one first because you'll miss jokes otherwise.

Yeahhhhh hell yeahhh everyone get excited we’re rewriting Artificial Condition from ART’s Pov!!!!!!! ARTificial condition, if you will. (Surely this has been done before but if it has can you send me the fics bc I cannot find them!!!!!!!!!!)
Tbh, I was just so emotionally ruined by Artificial Condition that I knew I wouldn't process it properly unless I methodically went through it, which is what this fic allowed me to do. Basically, I'm using ART as my emotional processing gloves. this goes as well as you would expect (good for me, bad for ART).Bookmarked by Huskinata

I blurted, "Bots can get married on Preservation."
Suddenly, I had 84% of ART's attention. It had been sitting at 62% so the sudden weight of it almost made me physically react. Almost.
"Then it is a shame my options for marital partners on Preservation are null."

To The Moon And Back by ratknife
Fandoms: Apparently Sir Cameron Needs to Die - Greer Stothers

Summary
Sir Cameron is not having the time of his life here. Sir Cameron is being a very supportive boyfriend, but would really rather leave all the weird and/or political moon junk to the other two, if it's all the same. Unfortunately, weirdly political moon junk seems to be finding its way to him anyway, whether he wants it or not.

Summary
Drifting is usually a terrifying thing for a sleeper such as yourself. For as long as you can remember you have spent every morning in a desperate attempt to tether yourself to consciousness, drifting away from your frame.
The reboot feels a lot more like sleeping, rather than drifting. Turning Serafin's coin in your hand, as the sensations slip away, you don't think. You just sleep.
As your worn, weary, and inexplicably exhausted mind struggles to reclaim your manmade body, cycle after cycle after cycle, you slowly begin to feel again. You feel a pinprick against your synthetic skin, and the grip of a tender hand. A voice. Words.
...
Components move. Fluid flows. The rush of a million different protocols and thoughts start to rise and fall like they always have.
It's time to wake up.
