    “Ivan, what is this?” Till's voice couldn't hold down a steady octave. His breathing was ragged from the silent tears and the panic he just lived through. “Ivan..”

     

    “H-” Ivan tried to answer for it was Till, but his body wasn't listening to his commands. 

     

    “Hanahaki? T-this is Hanahaki, right? So you had, what, Hanahaki all along?” Till laughed hysterically. “You've been coughing flowers, flowers that, that would result in death, a-and you didn't even go to a doctor? Didn't tell anyone?”

    Ivan ends up with Hanahaki but doesn't care about it since nobody does either. (At least, that's what he thinks.)

    Every human was assigned a pair of angel and demon that hovered over them from life to death. The angel’s job was to protect and to correct, while the demon was meant to lead astray. Together the two of them worked to create a balance where the human was given the choice to choose between right and wrong, all the while being assured that their life is in good hands. Though humans couldn’t see them, they could sense them.

    In all, it was was simple and easy, or at least it was supposed to be.

    And it was, unless you had an angel and demon like Ivan and Till, respectively. Even worse when you did have the misfortune of having Ivan and Till sitting on your shoulder. Alone, the two were probably good at their jobs. Together, they were a recipe for disaster. Sometimes in the favour of Ivan, sometimes in the favour of Till.

    Ivan and Till are the angel and demon on Marty’s shoulder. They’re really, really irresponsible because of each other, and Marty has to suffer because of it. Two times, Till leads him to a bad decision, and both times Ivan fails to stop it due to… distractions.
