Summary
Modern-day Hobbit AU set in Scotland, wherein Thorin is the leader of the most notorious criminal family in Scotland, and Bilbo is the bemused grocer who is dragged into their business (and their family) against his will.
The Sons of Durin is the first story, and should definitely be read first. Durin's Sons is a very different perspective on that story. Children of the Lonely Mountain is a series of short stories that fill in the gaps. All three are set chronologically before Durin's Folk, which will continue the story into the events of the Lord of the Rings series.

Summary
“I was wondering,” Gimli had said at the beginning of it. “Isn't it about time you get started on that boat of yours?”
It has been over one hundred years since the War of the Ring. Gimli and a dwarf girl named Mâglah help Legolas build his ship to sail into the west. While they are working, Legolas realizes that there are a lot of things that have been long unexpressed between him and his dearest friend, things that must be said and done before it is too late.

Summary
From hobbit-kink: After BOTFA Thorin begs for Bilbo's forgiveness, and Bilbo makes him wait a long while for it.
“Hello,” she says, greets him as though he were the post man on his delivery rounds, like they were no more than acquaintances passing each other in the old market square, like he never tore her heart out of her chest.

Not usually a fan of fem Bilbo, but I loved how spare the author’s writing style is, and yet a world of possibility is hinted at.

I can't believe I didn't bookmark this before. THIS is the story that made me stand and cheer for Illwynd, and cry too. It's a raw, overwhelming relationship between Loki and Thor, and a magnificent tale. Astounding piece of awesomeness. Please read it!
