“What do you want?” Nesta hissed into the phone, trying to keep her voice down.
“Wow, good to hear you too.” Cassian's joke fell flatter than he expected. "It's just... You never replied. I needed to check if-”
“I'm busy,” Nesta clipped. "I'm at my sisters'.”
“Right. I figured. I don't know what I was thinking.” A pause. “I just... I’m leaving tomorrow. And it feels like we left things unfinished.”
“We left things fine.”
“We did?” He cleared his throat. “It doesn't feel fine.”
Silence stretched again. Nesta pressed her shoulder against the wall, staring at nothing.
“I wanted to see you tonight,” he said finally, less confident now. “Before I go.”---------
Nesta Archeron returns home after a decade away from her sisters. When she unexpectedly meets Major Cassian Whakatāne, their paths keep crossing. The reality gets more complicated when her sister gets engaged to one of his brothers. Avoiding him is impossible and the harder they try and stay away, the more they want to be in each other's presence. And the harder they try to deny the pull between them, the harder they crash.
Denial, secrecy and misunderstandings. Hopefully they will find a way to march to the same rhythm.

Nesta had been angry for a very long time. She wasn’t even sure when the anger began, it felt as if it were just always a part of her. It kept her safe, it protected her from the criticism from her mother and dance coach, Miss Amarantha. Their harsh words about her body as she matured and grew, the insults about her lack of effort and will whenever she mis-stepped, how nothing she ever did seemed to be enough. Even after her mother passed, Nesta allowed her dance coach to continue her vicious training regime, remaining silent as the hurled insults and threats increased tenfold.
Another seven years have passed, Nesta was now in her second year of the Velaris University’s Juris Doctor program. With both parents now gone, Nesta knows she should be a good eldest sister and try to keep the family together. She’s already agreed to a weekly dinner with them, often inviting friends too. But now Feyre and her boyfriend are getting serious and she’s trying to integrate her sisters with Rhysand’s brothers. One of those brothers has a knack for getting on Nesta’s nerves, ruining any hopes she had of trying to have as little stress and piss-poor habits as possible in her second year of law school.

Summary
Elain is completely fine and has her powers totally under control. She is not even upset about Azriel avoiding her, or Lucien's existence, which she cannot make herself forget no matter how much she wants to. Her mission to live a quiet, boring eternity in the Night Court is upended rather suddenly when - on a push to help Elain in the way they (sort of) helped Nesta - Rhysand and Feyre offer her an official position as their Court Seer.
At her very first appearance as an official member of the Night Court, a Day Court scholar appears to surprise Prythian with her announcement of a formal criminal tribunal against the Night Court.
Elain will have to decide where, and to whom, she belongs. Once the truth is told, there will be no going back.
