And God, the lavender work of art she was wearing today was both a lace-wrapped weapon and a daydream, lethal to his fragile heart, the answer to his unspoken prayers. She was poured into it, gorgeous, and he longed to drink her every drop. He even caught Benedict looking at her as surreptitiously as possible, which for Benedict is borderline obvious.
Colin had punched him - not lightly - in the arm.
Benedict smirked. “I am sorry,” he whispered.
“She is married. To your brother.”
“She is a rose in bloom. What is anyone to do but look? You are a lucky man.”
“I know,” he said quietly into his champagne glass.
