Summary
Maglor woke gasping, desperately trying to cough the dream water from his lungs. The wave had towered over the land, so tall it had blocked out the sun. The vast wind it had pushed before it, sweeping away gulls and birds of all kinds, stinging his face with sand as he was frozen in place, watching that wall of water grow ever closer. There was nothing he could do, no safe place to run to. He had stood there, staring, even as he recognized the wave for what it must be – a judgment from the Valar. It had hit him with a force of a hurricane, turning his world white. He'd thought, then, that this would be his end.
Then he woke up.Series

Summary
“Identify yourself,” the skipper orders across the connection. Somehow, the poor elleth manages to keep her voice steady. “You are in Lindon space, flying no colors. Identify yourself or expect to be detained.”
Not that the tiny cutter has any hope of detaining a ship of that size, never mind one so clearly battle-fit and bristling with powerful weaponry. It looms over them, blocking out the stars with its shadow, resembling nothing so much as some large, predatory bird. With guns.
There comes a short silence and a faint crackle, then a very flat-toned statement: “You know who it is, boy."

Summary
Like Curufinwë, like Carnistir, she wore anger as a mask, under which Nerdanel could see a savage wound, still dripping fresh blood.
“They took my son,” Elwing said. “They as good as killed him, that day they chose to leave Sauron free. Just as they killed Celebrimbor, and Elros’s children, they killed Elrond too. And, having already hurt him so much, so many times, now they choose to keep him from life. For what? Because some king who knew no war thought he needed divine intervention to tell him whether or not he could fuck?”
-
In which Elwing discovers her son is interdicted under the Statute of Finwë and Míriel, and seeks both vengeance and assistance with the tool most immediately to hand.

Summary
The thing about forgiveness, he thought, was that it was so much easier when the object of it was far away—or dead. It was so much easier to let it all go when those responsible were far away and unable to do any more harm.

Summary
Fëanor shrugged, studying the contents of his wine glass. “Something must be done about that house. It will fall down eventually.”
“It does not follow that it must be you that tears it down single-handedly. Are you sure you do not want help?”
“It’s not as though I have much else to do. I need to build something new there,” he said after a few moments. “To do that, I must first clear away the old and broken things.”Decades out of Mandos, too many things in Fëanor's life remain broken. He can't do anything except wait for his sons to come to him, but he can do something about the old and crumbling house where they once lived.
