This fic is amazing. It is amazing and it is gen and it features a lovely, complicated, traumatized, clever, scheming Loki who manages to be heartbreaking and delightful in equal measure. This is basically all I've ever wanted out of a Loki fic. Long! Suspenseful! Gorgeous characterization! Complicated family relationships! Devious plots! Heartbreaking revelations!

Two years after the events from canon, Wei Wuxian accompanies his husband to a cultivation conference hosted at Lotus Pier. While there, he's given cause to contemplate his growing feelings of alienation, isolation, and discontent over his life and relationship with Lan Zhan - and his lack of a relationship with Jiang Cheng. Spurred on by a startling and somewhat traumatic revelation about events in his and Jiang Cheng's shared past, he leaves Cloud Recesses and his marriage behind to pursue a life of his own... With the hope that, in time, he can find his way back home to the man he loves.
The mood of this is very tender and aching, with a fraught start that mellows out into something soft and contemplative, maybe a little melancholy. It grows more hopeful as it goes, though. Still unfinished, but each story holds up well on its own, and you could easily read up to "Orbit" to get yourself a happy open ending; "Stay Here" kicks off a new conflict in the narrative, so keep reading if you're fine with being left in suspense as you wait for the series to update.

Jiang Cheng's battered ghost shows up at Lotus Pier after he dies from a qi deviation while Wei Wuxian's off living his new life. Wei Wuxian doesn't take it well.
This is such a delicious mess of guilt and resentment and miscommunication and obsession, topped off with Wei Wuxian's signature brand of denial as he spirals deeper and deeper into madness in his efforts to connect with what remains of Jiang Cheng. Has a very fun, angry-chipper tone to it. Only a bummer if you want Wei Wuxian to get better, so don't.

Jiang Yanli stops Wei Wuxian from going through with the golden core transfer. It doesn't really fix anything. Very interesting look at what might happen if Jiang Yanli hadn't gotten shuffled off to Koi Tower before the transfer surgery. Love the tragicomic carousel of sibling sacrifice the yunmeng trio's got going on in this one, very on brand for them.
